Foundational Services

Foundations Midwifery offers individualized, evidence-based care for pregnancy, postpartum, and reproductive wellness. Services are rooted in informed choice, continuity of care, and respect for each family’s values, culture, and lived experience. Care is provided to clients across the Quad Cities and surrounding areas in Iowa and Illinois, within the scope of licensed midwifery practice.

Homebirth Midfiwery Care

Full-scope midwifery care for families planning a home birth, including comprehensive prenatal care, continuous labor support, and attentive postpartum follow-up. Your journey will include all prenatal clincal visits, one prenatal home visit, birth support with your midwife and 1-2 additional qualified team members, 3 postpartum home visits, all newborn testing, and a final 6 week postpartum visit in office.

Clients receive consistent, relationship-based care throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, with education and support tailored to individual needs and circumstances.

Pre/Postnatal Care - Planned Hospital Birth

Everyone deserves to birth where they feel safest. Some people want the intimacy of the midwifery model of care, but still want to birth in the hospital. 

This model of care offers supportive prenatal and postpartum care for families planning a hospital birth who are looking for more 1-1 care during their pregnancy and immediate postpartum time.

Care may include prenatal clinical and educational visits, all labs and testing done routinely in an OB office, as well as birth preparation, and postpartum care for both birthing person and baby once home from the hospital. 

*This model of care must be cleared with both midwife and OB at your clinic of choice.

PAP/Well-Person Visits

Routine gynecologic and wellness care focused on preventative health, reproductive well-being, and patient-centered conversations. Visits are more personalized and designed to support informed choices, comfort, and trust.

Services may include PAP testing, routine labs, breast health education, contraception counseling, cycle and hormone support, and referrals when appropriate.
